LAMPO TROPHY

The Lampo Trophy is an international tennis tournament for teams under 12, part of the Tennis Europe circuit, held annually in Brescia, Italy.
The tournament attracts young talents from different countries, offering them the opportunity to compete at an international level in a competitive and educational environment.

A BIT OF HISTORY

The Lampo Cup was a youth tennis tournament sponsored by the Lanfranchi company of Palazzolo sull’Oglio and held until 2001. Initially, the tournament saw the participation of Italian teams, but since 2000 it has involved only European under-14 teams. Among the most famous players to have participated is Andy Murray. The format included two singles matches and one doubles match.

Since 2002, the tournament has been transformed into the Nation Cup, reserved for national teams under 12. The first edition saw the participation of a record 18 nations. The tournament, which received a very positive assessment from Tennis Europe, has maintained the Davis Cup formula, with round robin groups followed by a knockout phase. It was later renamed Lampo Trophy in honor of the sponsor.

In 2007, the European Federation adopted a similar competition, the Nations Challenge by Head.

The roll of honor shows the dominance of Italy in the first editions, with successes also from Canada, France, Korea and other nations. Since 2021, Korea and Israel have emerged among the most recent winners.
