In the twentieth edition in 2022, Austria won the men’s title, while South Korea triumphed in the women’s tournament.

In the men’s tournament, the final saw Austria once again face South Korea, who had already defeated the Austrians 3-0 during the group stage. However, in the final, Austrians Kian Kren and Anton Kahlig turned expectations on their head, winning both their singles matches against Kim Dongjae and Shin Jaejun respectively, with the scorelines of 7-6 6-4 in both matches. This victory marked Austria’s first victory in the history of the Lampo Trophy.

In the women’s tournament, South Korea confirmed their superiority by defeating Great Britain in the final. Sim Siyeon defeated Megan Knight 6-1 6-2, while Kim Siah prevailed over Sevil Parviz with a double 6-3, thus securing the title for the South Korean team in their debut in the competition.

The 2022 edition was a great success, with organizer Gianni Capacchietti expressing satisfaction with the high level of the matches and announcing plans to further expand the competition in future editions.
