Nation Cup 2021, a prestigious international under-12 tennis competition, took place in Rezzato, Brescia. In that edition, the Italian men’s “blue” team, composed of Lorenzo Rocco and Dennis Spircu, reached the final against Israel. Despite a battle that lasted over five hours, Italy surrendered with a final score of 2-1 in favor of Israel. In the women’s tournament, Mexico won the title by defeating Israel in the final with the same score of 2-1.

During the tournament, the initiative “Athletes by your side”, conceived by Dr. Alberto Tagliapietra, involved the Italian teams. This project uses the language of sport to support people affected by cancer, highlighting how athletes can offer closeness and encouragement to those facing the disease.

The 2021 edition saw a significant Italian participation, with three teams reaching the semi-finals, highlighting the high level of youth tennis in the country.
